New York mayor accused of accepting funds from Turkiye

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been charged with bribery and fraud after allegedly receiving illegal campaign donations from the Turkish government, according to an indictment unsealed today. Adams, who was elected three years ago, has denied wrongdoing. In a video he said if the Federal Government charges him, “these charges will be entirely false, based on lies.” “I know I am innocent,” he added.
