Second Turkish aid ship arrives in Sudan

The second Turkish humanitarian aid ship arrived at Port Sudan in eastern Sudan yesterday. The Sudanese News Agency (SUNA) reported that the Turkish Ambassador to Khartoum, Fatih Yildiz, Sudan’s Minister of Information Graham Abdel Qader, Governor of the Red Sea State Mustafa Muhammad Nour, and a number of other Sudanese officials received the ship. The agency quoted the Turkish ambassador as confirming his country’s continued support for “those affected by war, floods and rains in Sudan.” According to the agency, he said that “the Turkish contribution contains 18,000 tents, blankets, and shelter and public health materials.” He expressed his country’s gratitude for “the Sudanese people’s support for Turkiye in difficult times,” referring to Khartoum’s support for Ankara “during the earthquake […]
