Two Turkish and Qatari power-generation ships will be sent to Syria to expand energy supplies affected by infrastructure collapse during the administration of President Bashar Al-Assad, state news agency, SANA, reported Tuesday. According to the report, the ships would provide 800 megawatts of electricity, though it did not indicate when, Khaled Abu Dai, Director-General of the General Establishment for Electricity Transmission and Distribution, told SANA. “The extent of damage to the generation and transformation stations and electrical connection lines during the period of the former regime is very large, we are seeking to rehabilitate (them) in order to transmit energy”, Abu Dai said.
