Turkiye advances plans for national air-defence shield

Turkiye is making significant strides in advancing its long-term national security strategy with the development of an indigenous air-defence shield. The move, aimed at bolstering the country’s defence capabilities, comes amidst rising geopolitical tensions in the region. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed that Turkiye’s defence sector is focusing on accelerating the completion of the national air-defence system, which will include short-, medium-, and long-range air defence mechanisms.
